Make a Gift to Reserve

The Latest Giving News and Information
This page is organized to give alumni, current parents and friends of Western Reserve Academy easy access to the very latest happenings. With each passing year, there is much information to share about successes to date as well as prospects and plans for the future.

The Flanagan Fund

In 1982, the Board of Trustees of Western Reserve Academy selected Henry "Skip" Flanagan Jr. as the school's 30th headmaster.  Twenty-six years later, he and his wife, former Dean of Admission Barbara "Britt" Flanagan, have retired from the school they love; they have modeled these significant ideals for the Reserve community:  excellence, integrity and compassion.

To honor the Flanagans' legacy, and to build upon their efforts, we have created the Flanagan Endowed Scholarship Fund.  Financial aid has always been a passion for both Britt and Skip; nothing could be more fitting than to create an endowed scholarship fund in their name.

We seek to create an endowed fund totaling $6 million to provide full scholarships to eight students.  Each year, the Flanagan Scholars will be carefully selected from among well-qualified and talented applicants whose families could not otherwise afford the cost of a Reserve education.  By providing financial assistance to outstanding students, the Flanagan name will live on in perpetuity at Reserve and serve as a testament to academic excellence.

To date, we have raised $5.64 million toward our goal.  We welcome the support of alumni, current parents and friends of Western Reserve Academy to reach and surpass our goal.  Your gift will not only honor their service to Reserve, but also help strengthen our student body. Thank you for your consideration of the Flanagan Scholarship Fund.
